Rubicon Axles

I have a chance to buy the front and rear axles off a TJ Rubicon with the 4.56 gears and the original air lockers. I am unclear on the year model for my 00 TJ. he is asking 2k for the pair. They look to be in good shape. Very new to this arena, wanted some input if this was a good deal or not?

Thanks,
CL

Assuming you have stock Dana 30/35 with factory gear ratio and plan on going with large tires, I would say yes definitely. In fact, I'd buy them anyway because I've never seen a set for 2k. Generally $3000+ when they pop up near me.

Are you sure 4.56 gears?

2k is a decent price based on what they typcially go for.

I went by and looked at them yesterday, you are correct they do have the original 4.10 gears in them and he ended up going back on his original price and went to 1,500. Still probably going to get if i can't find elsewhere.

Thanks for the info.

$1500?! Buy them! If you don't want them, put them back on Craigslist.

1500 is about half price of the going rate or better as stated before.

Try and get the oem pumps (one for each axle). Each one is about the size your fist.

Try and get parking brake cables.

Rear axle will be disk, get disks and calipers. Only the rubi axle had rear disks.

But none of those would be a deal breaker at 1500 unless your planning tires bigger then 35 or maybe 37.

Nope.

And before everybody gets too worked up, I'm guessing he meant $1500 each. How does it make sense otherwise if the original price was $2000 for the pair and the seller "went back on his original price". $3k for the pair is in the zip code of normal sales for these, although you do see them go for more.

If you don't want them, send me the info. I can have them shipped to my dock for next to nothing and make $ on them. I already have a set in my 2001 and they've been great. I run 4.56's and 35's on alloy USA shafts and never had a single issue.

I would grab the cash and get over there and get this deal done ASAP! That is a great deal and you will enjoy those axles a lot compared to your current setup.
