Rubicon axles ??

I was driving the jeep in the rain recently. As I often do on wet streets in whatever I drive, I'll occasionaly give it enough gas to break the tires loose just to see how slick the pavement is. When I did this in the 05 Rubi, both tires grabbed shortly after one began to spin. Is there a lmited slip type device working when the lockers are not engaged? If so, how'd they get all that in one axle? :-)
