Rubi-conversion

While searching craigslist stumbled upon a 2004 rubicon that had been flopped.
Didn't look bad at all, cracked windshield dented hood and fender.

Price is $2500 for what I need for a conversion, so I'm assuming I need:

-front/rear axles with pumps
-drive shafts

Is this all I need so ensure a bolt on conversion??
And is this a good deal or should I keep looking? Note I'm running
33's on 3.07's and my pinion is leaking as well as my brakes are going.

Thanks

You will need the TC crossmember as well, as they are different to accommodate the 241. And you will probably have to modify it to fit your frame.

And you will have to get an adapter to make your speedo work with the 241.

May have to modify the ebrake cable as well.

Why not buy the whole thing and take what you need, and sell/scrap the rest?

In addition to the parts you mentioned, you'll need the air pumps. They are on the TC skid assuming it's stock.

If that's all that's wrong,he wouldn't be parting it out.

Well it looks fairly stock, could buy the entire
Thing for $5000 but don't have that kind of money. Figured
I would have to pay for new gears/brakes/seal, may as well spend a little
More and have stronger axles too woth bonus of lockers.

Will be taking a look at it in next few days but from emails
Was told it runs and drives fine, frame strait, just body damage.

As far as price... Fair price assuming nothing wrong?

I agree, a 2004 Rubi book value is close to 15 grand. The axles sell as a pair with the pumps for about $4500 by themselves. Something just doesn't sound right.

Around here, $4,500 for a pair of Rubi axles would be way overpriced.

$2,500-3,000 for the pair with pumps would be closer to market price.

I would so snatch that up for $4500! It's hard to believe the insurance company totalled it out for a smashed hood/fender and a broken hard top window.... There has to be something else wrong with it like a ruptured T-case, bent axle housings, etc... That looks like a lot of damage for just a "flop" it looks like it rolled over at least once.

It could possibly be someone that doesn't really know the value of what they have...
If hes asking 2100 for diffs, t-case and shafts I'd snag it up.

Thats been for sale since last summer, it looks worse in person.
Several of my buddies have looked at it and no one thinks its worth rebuilding, you can find good ones for 10 to 12 grand here, and sometimes less.
The diffs and t-case are definately worth the $2100
