It's like big girls, don't knock it until you've tried it. I have a 4" rough country lift and I love it. I have aftermarket shox but the springs are HD and the control arms rugged as well. It's not that bad of a kit at all.

I've got one too and havn't had any problems with the lift itself. As far as it not being a complete lift i.e. tracbars, quick disco's, brake lines, adj control arms, I have added some stuff that would have come with a more expensive kit. I upgraded to their nitro shocks and the ride really isn't that bad to me. If I had 1000 bucks to get a complete nice lift at the time I would have but this works better with my budget.

It is a good starter lift. Complete. Not great for hardcore off roading but good for light wheeling. The main problem are the poly bushings. They will wear out very fast when not taken care of properly.

Are you supposed to put grease on the bushings?

I’ve run the basic 4" lift with no real problems for 3 years. Heavy wheeling. Of course it has its own problems. Nothing is adjustable. Bushings wore out, shocks wore out, had to drop my TC 1 inch. But I am satisfied with the purchase. It preformed much better than all the namesayers said it would. But now I’m lifting my rig so I need to get a different kit, decided on the RE 5.5 LA. Hopefully it performs well, especially considering it cost 2000 dollars more than the Rough Country kit.
