That's the front left spring, and you can see towards the front, the spring is contacting the "cup" (idk what else to call it)

here is what the front Right:

and here is the front left: ( The problem)

I put new tires on, the pulling to the right problem was solved. The alignment is good. But the spring still rubs.

If you're just replacing the links then no. Just get under there and swap them out.

tealo951: looks to me like your drivers side spring isn't seated properly which would cause that to happen. disco the shocks and sway bar again and lower the axle and give the spring a twist (counter clockwise looking down) and it will stop spinning when it is seated properly. The lower end of the spring (the point where the springs metal terminates) should be on the aft side of the lower spring perch. If you feel around with your hands you can find exactly where it is supposed to go.

edit: spin the spring clockwise looking down, got myself confused for a second.

Good catch. I confirm your statment, the drivers side looks to be off by about 180 degrees.

Same thing happened when i had these rough country springs. I just put a four foot pry bar in there and moved the spring back. Worked like a charm, never came back into contact with the coil bucket....

Lift installed 32's on.....

I installed the 3.25 version but left the rear spacers off for now to help keep everything level (I don't like a high rear end). I may add them later depending on how things settle out in month or so. So far so good, nice ride, great value, great lift.

tealo951... on the spring perch where the bottom of the spring rests there's a keeper clip (toward the rear of the vehicle) which is supposed to hold the spring in place and keeps it from turning. Like AFjeepMan said, once the end of the coil fits into the notch he is talking about, the keeper clip can be put back in place over the last coil turn and tightened back down. I actually took the keeper clip off when I put the spring in place so it wouldn't interfere as I turned the spring. I then reinstalled it when I was finished. Even if you left the keeper clip off I doubt that the spring would ever roatate because of the pressure... that is unless you got into a full droop situation and the pressure came off enough to let them somehow spin.

that's what i thought too, that it wasn't int he bottom all the way, but it is. it's fully in it's little spot and the keeper is locked down tight. only the driver side of my rig had the keeper clip, is that normal? i can't figure it out.. I can post another picture of the bottom the spring if need be. any other ideas? could it be a spring defect? (doubt it) and are the springs left right oriented (probably not) due to the driver always having a load?

P.S. I will also post a pic of the final product of lift on my rig. and thanks for the tips guys, i'll double check tomorrow, but i don't think it's wrong at the bottom. :/

Hows this kit do with a LJ with a hard top? I'm pondering a small body lift, but the 2.5" isn't much more. Im just afraid of sag, seems to be an issue.

here is the bottom of the spring that you guys wanted.. it's all the way in it's spot, and the clip is there... Idk what else to do. it's rubbing the paint off the spring, and it'll rust sooner... I'd like rough country to input here, or maybe reimburse me or something.. but here's the picture:

and as i promised... here's the a picture of the finished lifted jeep. As for the LJ with hard top sagging.. i don't think that it will sag, the springs are progressive, and very strong from what i've seen.

tealo951... it certainly appears that you have the bottom of the spring seated correctly. I went back up and looked at your earlier pic of the top part and it just looks like to me that the top isn't exactly centered for some reason - looks like the top is shifted forward just a bit for some reason... almost as if the "hole" in the spring (what you'd see if you were looking straight down on it if it weren't mounted) is off center. My suggestion would be to pull it and see if it is in fact deformed... if it isn't deformed then you might want to experiment a little by switching it with the one you have on the opposite side. I agree with you that it may be time to get some input from RC. Also, I wanted to mention that my tj does have the keeper on the right side too (i think you mentioned that in an earlier post). However, as i recall that one is about half a turn from the very end of the coil's tip - again it's oriented on the vehicle's rearward side of the spring perch.

...by the way, the new tires look great.

i've been trying to find a way to fix it without having to pull the springs again.. all well.. i guess we'll find out. gah.. and i tried the other day with my dad letting it sag on that side and pry/hit with hammer, and it didn't budge. The top is as snug-as-a-bug-in-a-rug.. so idk how it couldn't be seated right... and my bump stops are about 2 inches too short.. how the heck would i get the spring in if they weren't too short? and the way it sits they'd hit... how do i correct that??? right now i don't mind my shocks being the stops.. but it's definitely not healthy.

And thanks man, i should probably add the picture to my build thread. lol
