Roll Bar Padding v. No Roll Bar Paddin

Well I took the roll bar padding off the back two bars today to see how it looked and I really like it. I'm not sure if I should look into getting rid of the soundbar and putting speakers somewhere else so I can take all the paddings off or not. What do you guys think of the padding or no padding issue?

if you rollover the rollbar isnt going to be any weaker or stronger because of that padding... it might hurt if you hit your head tho

I took all mine off and it's a lot nicer having shiny paint rather than nasty old faded fabric.

The padding on an 03+ might cushion your head but my 01 sure wouldn't have. I've bounced all over the place and never hit it anyway and when I took it off I sat in the Jeep and looked around to see how far away from the bars my head actually was and there's quite a bit of distance. I'm 5'10" and I'd have to break my neck then bounce about a foot to hit the bars.

Keep the sound bar, the alternative is a bit spendy.

can't you sell the sound bar for a fair amount of money?

I for some reason hit my head all the damn time. I hurts like a son of a B either way.. with or with out the padding. Then again in 98 there wasn't much "padding" to make it not hurt....

You can also keep the sound bar on with the padding off I did on my tj for quite a while till I did my cage now I'm in the process of moding my sound bar to fit arount my cage in the rear..

I have all my padding off. I have my soundbar in without the padding. Never really look back there at it to see if it looks ugly or not.

I kept my padding on the sound bar, I installed larger speakers last year before I decided to remove the padding. I was just too friggin lazy to remove my speakers to take the padding off. Be sides, I makes a nices comfy place to sit and watch fireworks (yes I sit on top of my roll bar! )
