Rocky Mountain Edition? (merged)

Hello everyone. I am looking at possibly purchasing this Jeep http://www.usedcars.com/sites/ucc/ve...icleId=7525164 It says it's a rocky mountain edition, but if you look at the pics I do not see the 2 tone seats, or painted/graphite fenders. Is this Really a RME??
Thanks in advance.

Well, I would say no. It looks like they bought a sport package and put those ugly Rocky Mountain Edition stickers on the hood. As far as I am aware, the only rocky mountain edition stickers look like this:

BUT, it looks like you have 4 wheel disc brakes, which should come w/the brake and traction option = Dana 44.

I never saw one with RME on the hood, just a Sahara type decal where the foot prints are.I thought the RME just had a decal and a D44 rear standard.Price is WAY too high anyway. Here's a link with pics of seats too.

That one does not have: Painted flares, RME seats, painted center dash, RME decal. BUT, it does look like a very nicely equipped sport!

It looks like the dealership has no idea what it is. I'd inform them that it is NOT RME. Tell them about the seats, flares, dash, and decal. That should give you room to drop the price. (Don't tell them that it DOES have the Dana 44 and 4 wheel disc brakes.)

FYI, I paid less than that for my '05 sport, 6-speed, 18K miles, w/D44 + 4wheel disc brakes... but soft top only.

Thanks everyone. I kinda figured it was mismarked or whatever. Plan on using that to get a good price. They are way high if you ask me.
Thanks again.

I agree, I don't think it's a Rocky Mtn. I just bought one, granted its a year newer but the saleman told me they all have the round sticker, the D44, the center painted dash and the 2 tone seats with Jeep embroidered in them. And I also agree it's way to high. I just paid $17,500 for an '05 with 10,000 miles.

Rocky Mountain Edition came out late (march) in the '05 model year. It had the following:
Ravine 15" wheels
9.50x30 15 GSA,s
Color Keyed (matching) Flairs
Dana 44 rear
Fog Lamps
Custom Console Trim
Jeep Logo embroidered Seats
Rocky Mountain Decals on both front fenders
AM/FM CD radio

What that dealer has is just a labeled up base or X model
Wrangler. I hope this helps!

I couldn't load the site (@ work so i'll blame the proxy) but my '04 RME had the following:

15" Alcoa rims instead of the Ravines
9.50x30 15 GSA's
Graphite Flairs instead of matching flairs
Dana 44 rear
No fog lamps
Custom Console Trim
Jeep Logo embroidered Seats
Rocky Mountain Decal on only the passenger side / trail rated logo on the driverside
AM/FM CD radio

Got mine last month for 17,000 with 20k miles. Probably not the best deal but I had been looking for a few months and I couldn't pass it up.

When I still shopping, a local dealer had a used "Rubi". Turned out to be an '02 Sport with a 2" lift and Rubi decals. I will say that the dealer was honest about it and didn't try to pass it off....but the didn't take off the decals either.

Sorry bout that' I thought he was looking at an '05. The '04's did have, as you said , the graphite flairs and the Alcoa rims(NICE) everything else the same! And your right the sticker is only on the passenger side!

Aside from the info identifying that as Not a RME, do not overlook the excellent advice that the price in Entirely out of line! $13k - absolute tops. You could have bought an 04 Sport new (no options) for 20k.
