Sorry, after searching over 12 pages, I am having trouble finding that huge 7+ page thread on rocker guards. Anybody have a clicky link by chance??? Thought there was some good info on what to look for in a guard in that post from some reputable sources, just can't seem to find it now.
About to give up on AEV, have been looking at Rokmen lately for the Unlimited. A while back, Jerry made a statement about the AEV's being top-notch. Does that still hold true today with the newer designs, and most companies offerring internal bracing, similar to AEV's???
Thanks,
Mike

The AEV is a nice product but horribly unsupported by its parent company. I had them on order for months. Gave up months ago and bought AtoZ. Couldn't be happier.
Much heavier gauge material, better service.

I did the exact same thing. Just like two days after ordering, I got a call from Zach saying they were in powdercoat and would ship early the next week. Now that's customer service for ya.

I called AEV for MONTHS (it became like a joke for me) Left message after message. NEVER even got a return phone call as a courtesy.
I wouldn't buy one of their products if they promised to have it delivered by the 2006 Playboy Calender Models. Well maybe.......

I know which thread you're talking about, and now I can't find it either. Maybe PM JeepGal, I've seen her post the link before. Here's a link to a more recent discussion. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/showt...6&page=2&pp=30
If you read far enough into it, the guy from Rokmen posts up some features and pictures of his rockers that are not on their website. They seem extremely well designed to me.
To me, the best ones are Rokmen, Rock-it man, AtoZ, and Shrockworks.

(Rock-It Man has rockers in stock ready to powdercoat btw - dont forget to ask him for the JF discount )

Rock-it-man, doesn't have sliders for an Unlimited yet. They do offer the most protection of any of the sliders as JeepGal stated.
FWIW, Zach at A to Z has the best cutomer service of any vendor I have spoken to, and I would buy products from him in a second.

I had the same problem with AEV. So i went with Poison Spyder and it was ship and painted for only $360. It also mounts to the frame not the body.

I can't wait until I finally get the call that my AEV's are in.
I will reply, "OH that was for my Jeep TJ... yeah... I own a hovercraft now. thank you, good-bye".

A to Z has awesome customer service. Zach is terrific at answering email and returning calls. It's the exact opposite scenario that's been described with AEV. The rockers are great. Just order the optional internal brace and you should be all set. You also can't beat the price. I have a set on my Jeep and love 'em!

Rubi-Soho:
I'm really liking the looks/features of the Rokmen at this point. I think it's pretty much down to these and Zachs. Did you have any trouble mounting the internal brace??? Appears to be riveted to the floorboard, and I would assume three bolts from the guard on the outside go through, and secure to the inner side of the tub-through the floor brace piece-is that correct??? Any trouble with the double walled areas of the tub, and lining up the extra larger holes?
Thanks for the info thus far!

no the install is easy... and very detailed instructions.....
just make sure to have a good pop rivit gun.,... thoses are some serious rivits.
and they ship em wrapped in foam, then the entire box is expanded foamed in...
it took longer to get the rocker out of the box, than the install.... really
