road gears 2000 TJ

I was interested in what others have done with gears to improve highway performance for a 2000 TJ with 4.0.

Depends on tire size and tranny 3spd auto non overdrive vs 5 SPd manual with overdrive vs AW4 auto overdrive swap

Please fill out your profile more completely so that people can better answer your questions. Also, for what you have filled out, unless someone did a strange swap to your jeep you do not have a 258. You have what gets referred to as the 4.0 (which has 242 cu. in.), a late 80s evolution of the 258.

With only 30s, I question whether any gear change that would make sense would be enough of a change to justify the cost.
