Hello, as some of you may or may not know RIPP produces supercharger kits for various vehicles. This year after a years worth of test and 33000 miles in R&D RIPP launched the very popular Wrangler JK kit. 50 systems later and receiving nothing but praise from our clients we are getting ready to launch the second jeep kit in our line up. We decided to tackle the more challenging electronics in the 03-06 using our proprietary electronics the RIPP Black Box.

Our approach to tuning is a bit unconventional but has proven to deliver a completely seamless driving experience with better than stock gas mileage and no check engine lights. Essentially we turn the factory ECU into the tuning tool by "translating" the "language" of boost to it and adding fuel through our supplemental fuel system.

This is an early "first start up" video as you can see it runs and start like stock with a bit more grunt.

that looks like a 6 cylinder. what are the changes made to the 4.0 liter after 2002? i thought the 2000 - 2006 engine was unchanged.

2005-2006 use a different throttle body and 03-06 use a different computer with lots of program changes to work with the NVG trans and the 42RLE.

sounds cool, looks like the air intake is pointed in a bad direction for sucking up mud and water tho

Well I noticed that the on the last Pic that Black C3 plug is not on the Stock PCM Does that run to the Black box? What is this going for? My stock PCM has a short to gound on a IAC driver but if you guys use that plug to go to the black box Id be a happy camper.

This would be great thing to blow my deployment money on = ). Save money = eat RIce when every one is eating Kobi beef.

Just electronics... we will be finalizing the years available over the upcoming winter months. Technically the kit will fit 01-1/2 through 2006 but we haven't finalized the ECU change over yet. We've had a 05 running with our electronics all year with no issues or lights.

Any chance of a warranty of some kind? Estimated price? I'd like more power from the 4.0, not sure if forced induction or stroking is the way to go yet.

On that note, how would it work with a basic to mild 4.6 or 4.7L stroker?

The air filter can be hooked up to any number of snorkels or air filter kits or we can flip it around to the factory location without a problem. That’s just for testing – it is the proto type piping

This rig happens to be a 6spd so that plug is not required, the autos use that plug to drive the transmission. The black box references various sensors on all plugs to determine ECU adjustment in real time.

As with all our kits there’s a one year warranty pre-production pricing is $3849.95 depending on the finalized version the retail price generally is $4449.95 complete with pre-programmed electronics and all required hardware for installation. This kit will likely come with a 40page color instruction manual with technical note and hints to help install, and will install in 6-8 hour. We are will post DYNO before and after and Dyno sheets soon.

No problem,

The JK kit we manufacture is up for CARB right now... its one of those “hurry up and wait deals”... the JK kit is "CARB compliant" which means it will meet CARB standards, pass' the sniffer and OBD2 tests but lacks the number under the hood.... we're working on it... one thing at a time.

However... because we use supplemental injection, do not swap out the original injectors – or - mess with the EGR or fuel system - its very easy to revert the system back to stock in fact it takes minutes in stead of hours... Simply remove the supercharger belt and route the factory one and your back to stock. Since our tuning logic doesn't re-flash the factory ECU it will run like factory. This also comes in handy just in case ANY part of the system goes wrong... for example if the blower or a bearing should fail for any reason... simply remove the belt and you can get your rig home... this is a feature no other manufacture can claim.
