Can you explain this a little more?

Are you referring to the transmissions behind the 5.2 specifically?

In my situation, I swapped an auto for a different auto and had to swap the input shafts.

The 545RFE is a whole different animal that's why.

It doesn't have to do with the engine. Only the transmission. 96-01 44re/46re use the short pre '96 46re/rh uses the medium. I stand corrected here The standards such as AX5 uses the short 21 spline shaft, AX15/3550 use the Long 23 spline shafts.

Thanks for the explanation.

I know the t-case input has nothing to do with the engine. I'm not familiar with all the transmissions used behind the 5.2, so I just referenced the motor and left it at that.

Great info guys. I'm sure I won't be the only one that appreciates it... Got my buddy coming to help me with the wiring next week...

To kinda change subjects however what should I do for my radiator...? Should I buy the one from backwoods? Do I really need the aluminum one? Just trying to figure out my next move after the wiring

I have a Champion 3 row on my 4cyl (I bought the 2 row and they were OOS so they sent me 3 row). It's not a V8 yet but been very happy with it and they sell them under Champion and American Eagle Radiator brands on eBay in a V8 conversion for about $200 or so. When I do my swap, that's what I am planning on unless I can route my hoses as is then I'll just keep what I already have. I think Sheriff1680 runs the stock 4cyl radiator with his 5.2 if I recall correctly.

2 Row http://www.ebay.com/itm/1987-2004-Wr...-/140667767983

3 Row http://www.ebay.com/itm/1987-2004-Je...-/160701805259

Both are the same manufacturer and ship from the factory in the same Champion Radiators box.

Haven't seen this one but if you prefer US made aluminum there's also http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jeep-Wrangle...-/160704344445
