Replace odd ball 1999 A/C Compressor with 1991-1998 compressor???

I was wondering if it was possible to replace the 99 a/c compressor with a '91-'98 "sanden" model with little to no modification. It looks like the mounting bracket is similar if not the same. If that is the case all I would need is 1997 or 1998 a/c high and low pressure lines right? Unless of course they changed the condenser and drier pipe locations in 1999 as well. FYI the only reason I ask is because the Sanden compressor are much cheaper to replace (under half the cost) and they allow for a kilby kit to be installed without hacking into your fender. Here are a few comparison pics:

If you used the Sanden compressor and the manifold assembly from a 98 I don't see why it wont work. An AC shop can make hoses and whatever is needed to make it work.

We do it all the time. Doc's blocks has all kinds of hose ends and AC connection stuff.
