Since the 2003 skid plate is (a lot) lower than the older models, I was thinking about replacing it with pre 2003 skid plate. Is it just a matter of swapping both or am i missing something? Will I need to replace the transmission mount as well?
Yes 03 - up are lower. They call them the "shovel"
They did this to accomodate the bigger t-case on the Rubicons that started in 03 and just put them on all TJ's.

I don't mind drilling a couple of holes and getting new bolts .
Would I need to get a new transmission mount as well or are these the same?
Could I use a YJ plate too ?(easier to find used in Belgium) ...
