Removing transfer case drop... bolt lengths question

Hi,

I have an 05 Rubi. When the PO had the lift installed, the shop put on the included transfer case drop. Since they're totally unnecessary, I'll be taking them off on the next garage day. Will I need to get shorter, factory-length bolts, or can I just remove the spaces and tighten these longer ones down? If I need to go shorter, anyone have an old set lying around, or know the size & length so I can go pick them up?

Thanks,
Todd

i think youll need the short ones because the long ones arent threaded the entire way.

pretty sure you will need stockers. Another thing to worry about is driveline angle. Does it have a sye kit? I just lifted my buddies YJ, and I did not use the transfer drop, instead I lifted the engine 3/4".

EDIT:: You do have a SYE from factory (sorry didn't fully read the post). However you may need a longer driveshaft. I believe you also have a CV driveshaft from factory. A motor mount lift will help address your driveline angle, or also upper adjustable arms will help.

As stated - just get some grade 8 from the hardware store. Im not sure where the "totally unnecessary" comes from? Transfer case drops exist for a reason. In the case of your rubicon - you do NOT need a SYE kit as the rubi transfer case has a fixed yoke. however - you may need a CV driveshaft, or a motor mount lift after removing the TC drop....

If you have ANY vibes at all - you will need to address it.... which is usually easily addressed by that "totally unnecessary" TC Drop....
