removing dash lights

how do you remove the upshift light? is it as simple as just removing the light behind the gauge cluster?

How about another dash light question? Is it possible to make the high-beam light less bright? It kinda defeats the purpose of high beams when I'm blinded by that bright blue indicator light.

Suppose you can shove a higher rated bulb in there to dull it. Or you can cap for the lamp itself, I think some of the dash lamps have a clear-blue cap to dim them, might want to fabricate something similar. You could probably use a Sharpie marker and black some of it out..

Mr. Bill, I guess that's the joke from DC. While driving through the desert at night (when there are no lights around), visibility is much better with the dash lights dimmed down. Of course, when I do this, I get this big blue spotlight (that doesn't dim) shining bach in my face.
I'm going to try some of K9's ideas. Also, I guess I could actually look in that $110 shop manual that I recently bought. Thanks.
