removing the dash from an 03 TJ, help? anyone?

im lookin to remove EVERY piece of my dash to repaint it (its tan, but i want it black)

i have the paint already, but ive been looking online all day (even on the forum here)

and it seems like no one has actually removed the entire dash, just the bezel (radio portion)

so does anyone have step-by-step instructions for me on removing the entire dash? or at least know of a web-site that can give me the directions on how to do it?

please help!

thank you!

Remove steering column
3 bolts on each side in door jamb area
4 bolts across the top near windshield
2 bolts behind the glove box up by the air bag.

I just changed my interior from Gray/Black to Tan/Black. (almost done)
Some notes:
1. To get the steering cowl off, you have to take out the ignition switch. There's a hole underneath with no crew in it, push a screwdriver in and with the key in and turned to 'on', you can pull out the switch.
2. To get the headlight switch shaft out, you have to reach under the dash and push the release button
3. Don't forget to disconnect the neg battery terminal so you don't set off the air bags by accident, especially when playing around on the passenger's side to get the 2 nuts off.
4. It's heavy, so get a friend to help lift it out. You can remove the instrument cluster to lighten up the load.
5. I used Kyrlon Fusion for plastic. It works real good, but do let it sit without moving the parts for at least an hour. I made the mistake of painting the grab handle. Turned into a sticky mess. (don't do it!)

If I think of any other 'lessons learned, I'll post again.

Dan
