Removed transfer case drop, shifter smacks dash

Like the title says, I removed the POs TC drop and now the shifter smacks the dash in 1,3,5 gear. Will this self correct if I loosen and retighten the tranny mount nuts?

Not unless your motor mounts are compressed all the way forward.

Installing a motor mount lift will probably help. My shifter was all over the place as I was installing my body lift, motor mount lift, and high clearance skid plate.

Another alternative is to bend the shifter (probably need a torch for this one). Actually, the PO may have bent yours forward after installing the drop.

I considered this, but doubt it as he seems to have half assed everything else on the jeep.

I'll check the tranny mount and post back. I have a MML and new tranny mount waiting to go in, too.

In that case, the shifter should return to a usable state...depending on the mount(s) you may actually end up with the opposite problem where the back end of the console is in the way.

Fair question. PO had a 4" Procomp lift that I removed. I ran out of time after pulling the lift and left the TC drop for another day (today).

Jealous of all the shot taking. I'd pour myself a slug of Lagavulin, but it's too hot to enjoy good single malt.

No Label Mint IPAs tonight.

What's wrong with a Pro Comp lift?
The springs are actually pretty good.
Once you replace the control arms, shocks, and t-case drop with good pieces, you have a good lift.
Not understanding the Pro Comp hate around here.

Oh my... all this shot talk and Ted Nugent Stranglehold playing is making me thirsty.

Not nice fellers...
