Thanks guys, the reason for the question is because I have 33s and I am tired of the speedo being off. According to this site http://4x4xplor.com/images/speedo/speedochart00.gif I need a 26 tooth gear, I have a 30 in it now. Does this seem correct?

3.07 gears with 33" tires? I'd be more tired of the pitiful performance I was getting than the speedometer being off.

x 2. I can't stand my 3.07 gears with 31". Decided to drop some dime on a G2 D44 axle 4.10 gears w Detroit elocker and regear front D30. Can't wait to get my 5th gear back.

33's are a good match for 4.56's. Its night and day different between 4.56 and 3.07...I know this from experience.

4.56 gears are available in almost any diff, and d30/35 def came with 3.07, 3.73, 4.11, and a rare 4.56
with a 3.07, you will have to swap carriers for 4.56

The tag is very likely correct, but it wouldn't hurt to use another method in the link from the FAQ to verify the tag is correct.

No.
You can use your existing axle housings with low ratio carriers that will accept the 4.56 gears.
