Rear window rattle & Tailgate adjustment

I guess there has to be some little annoying thing about every vehicle, and this one has an obnoxious rear window rattle.

Seems as though the tailgate doesn't sit high enough when it is closed. I thought it might be tweaked a bit because of the weight of the spare tire, but is almost perfectly level.

When it is closed, it just barely touches the rubber weather stripping. After the first bump in the road, there is enough flex in the body or hard top that the rubber pops out and is now on the outside of the tailgate lip. The hard plastic lip on the window is now free to rattle against the tailgate lip. Apparently this has been happening since the vehicle was new, as there is tiny wear pattern (groove) in the plastic lip on the window.

Can the tailgate hinges be adjusted either on the body or on the door? If I could lift the door 1/8th of an inch, things would be golden. Whats the proper procedure for making the adjustments, and how do you get the plastic covers off of the hinges?

As a temp fix, I laid a thin piece of stick on weather stripping on the window lip. Seems to have trapped the window in place for now.

Is the door level from left to right? I think you could adjust the metal latch on the driver side inside the tub. If you raise it higher, the driver side of the door will sit higher.

Loosen the 2 nuts at the top of the window (one is behind the wiper cover) and then pull the glass straight down. Re-torque gently or it will shatter.

The tailgate is sitting level. I thought it may have sagged a bit because of the tire, but it is square with the world.

I took the nut off of the drivers side this morning to see if there was some adjustment there (theres some, but not much) but I did not loosen the passenger side. I'll loosen then both up and see what happens.
