Rear track bar relocation bracket

Just wondering if anyone has installed the rear track bar relocation bracket with ONLY a 2" BB. I'm running a 2" BB + 3/4" from the Rubi springs for 2 3/4" total lift and my rear axle is off, but I don't want to over-correct it. I already have the bracket so a rear adjustable is not an option right now.

I thought we covered this for you earlier where it was said it's not really needed for only a 2" lift. Sorry if that earlier answer I'm thinking of wasn't in response to you.

Hey, I'm about to do that very same install let me know if you have to end up using the rear relocation bracket or not. What rating of rubi springs did you put on 105/129 or 106/130? Also if you end up with a stiffer ride or not because I'm not sure whether or not its the springs that determine a "stiff" ride or its the shocks. If anyone knows please chime in. Sorry for the semi-hijack but the question is somewhat related.

Good question - I was wondering too since I was going to buy some OME shocks and saw that the bracket comes with even their 2" kit. I asked wayoflife (4x4xplor.com) the same question about the rear traction bar relocation bracket. He mentioned that the rear axle goes about 1/4" to the passenger side with a 2" spring lift and that it's not really enough to cause any sort of difference. I've tried to find JUST the bracket since I'm doing a 2" lift using procomp springs and some OMEs but haven't found anyplace to get the bracket from. If you know where I can get one cheap - I'd be interested. Also, regarding the rubi springs - I gotta echo that - is it the springs or the shocks that determine the ride quality?

I know a jeeper who did the BB and his 31" AT's are right up to the one spring perch. He is in the same boat. I have the OME 2.5 lift and it came with the relocation bracket, so I'd say you are in need. The bracket raises the hole up about 1" and evens out the axle offset of the lift.

Muddiver,

What gives you the best ride is a set of shocks and springs that are designed for each other. Trying to miss match is a guessing game which if your not careful will make a rough ride.......terrible. You are at the mercy of indivdual choice with your question. Some people like a stiff ride, some like soft, but many would just like a better ride than they have. Good luck, as my grandpa always said,"an opinion is like a butt hole, everyone has one!"

Sorry Modirator, he really did say it.

i've got just a BB on right now but using stock 5.5"bs wheels and 10.5 tires i'm uber close to that rear spring perch - it'll rub before i hit bump stops. i ordered an OME bracket from quadratec (i'm assuming for their 2" kit) that should be here any day. i'll post my results here. i'm leaning toward drilling my front bracket as well because its visibly off quite a bit as well.

I installed a Teraflex track bar bracket on my 2004
Rubicon with 2 inch spring spacers, now the axle is perfectly
centered.

Dont flame me if this is stupid, it is just something that i have never looked into or even thought about. Why do they tell youto drill a hole in the front (thats what i did) rather then giving you a front track bar relocation braket.

Wasn't me J.B.

Kaybone, I installed the 105/129 combo and as mentioned, got about 3/4" lift out of it. It seems to ride about the same as the 104/128 combo I had on. I will most likely be installing the bracket, I'm just not looking forward to it

All you do is make the existing hole bigger for the front track bar (wher it connects to the frame). You don't drill a new hole. I think it would be pretty tricky to make some kind of relocation bracket for the front.

boy, i was under the impression you create a whole new hole, and this is on the existing axle bracket. the numbers i have seen is to shift the hole 9/16" for a 3" lift and 3/4" for a 4" lift. this idea was given to me by a tech at 4wd.com when i was asking about relocation brackets for the front or what folks do with them.

pg 5 of
http://www.quadratec.com/pdf/teraflex/s4t.pdf

enlarging the existing hole makes me picture a loose trackbar.

my biggest reservation about redrilling (aside from the weakness factor) is that its kind of a one-time deal. if i wanna go higher later its gonna be off again and then i'm looking back at an adjustable trackbar and then i've got a leftover extra hole there.

For my RE adjustable track bar this is the hole I had to enlarge for the new trackbar to fit. It doensn't make the track bar looser. In the pic it is a tera track bar, but i'm showing the hole you have to make bigger for the RE track bar.

Track Bar mount to frame
(thanks wayoflife 4x4xplor.com for the pic) Check this site out for installation write ups. Its a great time saver.

ah, we're talking two different solutions. i'm talking drilling a new mounting location for the stock trackbar and you're talking installation of an adjustable one.
