My fiance decided to buy a Rubicon. It's an '05 LJ. So, ofcourse I'm already plotting what I can do to it once she lets me at it with a wrench. I'm sure this has been brought up before, but I couldn't find it through searching. Will the rear Rubcon locker fit into the front axle too, or is there a housing difference? I don't want to debate on if it a good idea or not, I just want to know if it can be done. Thanks!
Be very careful with the wife mod. Uninstallation can be extremely expensive. Wife mods have been known to take the Jeep and all other mods during the uninstall process. Also, make sure you service your wife mod properly as often as humanly possible. Wife mods not properly serviced may malfunction or uninstall themselves at any time.
I agree, I would put a front locker in rear before a rear in the front. I know if I ever grenade my rear locker, I'm going to put a front Rubi locker in there. The rear can be weak, they are plenty strong but not as strong as the front. I do like the LSD in rear and rear only, but I could live with out it. Because the times when I usually get use out of the LSD, are the same times when a locker would do the same job.
