rear bumper and tire carrier... tkh vs nates 4x4 vs lod

well i have reason to need a carrier and wanted a 2 in receiver, so i figured i would take care of 2 things at once. at first i was sold on th LoD, but then read some reviews that did not speak so highly. i also read about nates 4x4, which has a sale supposedly on one for $320. also, it seems you can buy the bumper seperately, (what i really would like now) and the tire carrier later. i know you get what you pay for, but i really dont off road that much. also, the thk is $500 or so, and is 1/4 in steel, free shipping. i was also interested in a price but could not find one for bumpers made by a member named bersk (sp?) and also how to buy...

just decide for me, this is keepin me up at night

thanks
josh

I'd really look into the LOD if I were you. Garvin is another nice bumper that is tow rated (I don't believe LOD is tow rated). What will you use the bumper for mostly? Do you want the bumper to be able to carry things like jerry can, hi-lift jack, cargo, etc.? Recovery points? What do you want really in a bumper...

You can email Ground Pounder at GroundpounderFab*AT*verizon.net. The basic bumper is $499 plus shipping, that gets you the bumper, carrier, a 2" receiver and two 1" clevis mounts.

Here be a thread with many pictures. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f59/ground-pounder-fab-bumpers-547013-post6146964/

If I were you I'd look at one that can carry a jack and some other gear...makes more room inside for other gear/people lol

I wanted to place an order for the front & rear with tire carrier from Nate’s but it just scares me that no one can get any information from them.

Update on nates...3 calls and I got ahold of him as he has so many emails its hard for him to respond to all of them. His bumpers are on a 4 week turnaround so if you order just be patient, he told me mine shoud be here by thursday. That would put my order just over the 4 week period. So all is well with his bumpers...

Oh and he told me their prices will be going back to normal soon.
