Rear axle and tires
Ok, I got on the jeep build page and found out that my 2003 Sport has a Dana 44 rear axle (is this normal from the factory?). The front is a 30, so my question is, how big of tires can I safely handle without having to replace the front? I am currently running 31's and was considering a 3 in suspension lift and maybe a 1 in body lift. This from what I have read here states that I should be able to run 33's. My only concern at this point is the front axle. I would rather not break anything if I can keep from it. Thanks for any advice!

You'll find that alot of people run 35s on a d30 without issue. Replace it when you break it a few times but you'll be fine.

you'll definitely be fine up to 35's...
the D30 is not the axle you hear complaints about...it's the D35 (which is the other rear option instead of the D44)... just because the 44 is a bigger number (and stronger axle) than than 35, doesn't hold true that the 30 is even worse than the 35... Greg
