Rear Axle Question 3.07 to 3.73

I had to replace the rear axle a few weeks back and in a pinch I had to go with one that had 3.07 gears in it. My jeep was 3.73 and I'm ready to get back there now. My question is on a D35, do you have to replace the carrier too in order to go from 3.07 to 3.73 or can I just by the ring and pinion set. Was hoping to order tonight or tomorrow so thanks for your help.

it would probably be cheaper to get a d35 out of a junkyard with 3.73s than regear it
