Really? All TJ's didn't come with rear window soft top brackets?

Okay, my buddy (nick-named hardtop B) runs around every where with his doors off and his hard top either on or off with a bikini top. I always tell Hardtop, 'Why don't you run a soft top set up and that way you won't get wierd when it starts to rain" Whaddya mean? is the reply I get from him. Then I explain that in the middle of stuff he always bugs out because he doesnt like it raining in his Jeep and he tends to miss things. Turns out he does'nt want to spend a ton of money (fair enough) so yesterday I spotted a complete OE soft top on Craigslist for $125 with deep tint. I ran downtown and grabbed it for Hardtop and he picked it up today.
Now he's got an 03 Rubicon and this Top came from a Rocky Mtn Edition, He says, 'Hey looks like I'm missing something at the back window, how does it seal to the tail gate?' So I send him a picture of the brackets on my LJ and said the window bar goes in these, duh. He says 'I don't have those' What the ...... are you sure? I thought they all had those brackets. I've had, I dunno six TJ's and they all were present and accounted for. Does any one have a picture of sans bracket bare naked tub? Are the holes at least pre-punched? Really no brackets?

The tail gate bar brackets are not needed and don't come with a hardtop only vehicle.

But they can be found.

He may also need roll bar brackets, door surrounds, screws, knobs, etc.

Mine is a factory hard top only TJ. No brackets.
The dimples were on the tub for the tailgate brackets, telling me where to drill holes.
The roll bar had threads for those brackets. Easy.

The previous owner had them, they just didn't bother to include them in the sale. Did you ask the seller if they had them?

There would be no reason 'Hardtop' would've had those on his TJ.

Not included on HD TJ's. They come with the hardware if you buy a new softie. I'm sure he can order them separately. And no, the holes aren't drilled yet in the tub.

Was there ever a hard top only Rubi model?

Or were all Rubicons soft top only or dual top optioned from the factory?

I don't think you could get a hard top only Rubi, but I could be wrong.

My hard top Lj has none of that. I picked up a soft top recently, but am trying to piece together the rest of it (door surrounds, roll bar brackets, tailgate brackets). BTW, those roll bar brackets are surprisingly expensive.

Mine was a dual top, but I have since gotten rid of the hard top. Gave to a buddy with same Jeep. Made his day.

Many of those parts are on ebay most of the time. I have seen some stupid prices for the roll bar brackets. Surrounds go for around 100 normally on for sale sections of the jeep forums (and ebay sometimes). Tailgate bar and brackets vary in price. I have seen in some posts that someone (Bestop?) has a rear deck cover including bar and brackets that is cheaper than buyng the bar and brackets (new)

10 yrs ago I bought rear window bar brackets and roll bar brackets from the dealer for pretty cheap.

Rear window bar brackets were $9/each, roll bar brackets were $6/each.

Entirely possible the seller still has them on the Jeep. I know mine don't need to be removed to put the hard top on.
