RE 3.5" lift with stock control arms???

hey fellow jeepers,
i am looking into a RE 3.5 inch lift and i am wondering does anyone have the standard lift using the stock control arms? are there any complaints or reasons to with the super flex i know that the super flex has extended control arms but i am wondering if there are any problems if u get the 3.5" that just uses the stock ones. this would help alot thx.

The SF kit and the basic are the same in that the lower CA's are fixed at factory length. The only diff is the joint on the SF.
If you opt for ADj CA's then you can measure them to factory length or as you see fit for your lift.
The stock uppers stay put and work fine.
I would budget for a SYE kit tho since the 3.5 yields closer to 4.5" of lift. With the SYE you will need adj upper rear CA's.

I have a standard RE 3.5 and stock control arms. If I had to do it again I would go with the SF kit.

With the standard kit you will end up getting a new track bar for the front and at least rear upper control arms when you do the SYE.

Just get the SF kit to begin with. It will save you money in the long run.

That being said I am very happy with the kit. Good quality parts and lots of support. The springs settled a bit but I am ok with that because I thought it was a little high.

Good luck...

i have the 3.5 SF and I wish I had gone with the 4.5 with 3.5 springs

Jason at Redrock4x4.com is the only person I know of that offers this for no charge ( i think).

The 4.5 is a more complete kit making it much easier to do the SYE which you will most likely need and to upgrade to a taller lift down the road.

Save your money and buy the standard kit and purchase the adjustable control arms separately. The super flex kit comes with fixed length control arms, so you will still need to replace the uppers when you do the sye.

As mentioned the SF kit comes with fixed lowers. If you were to get the 4.5 with the 3.5 springs you would get the best deal for your money, still below MSRP. Redrock4x4 does do this along with others at no charge.

The stock lower control arms aren't as bad as you would think. The cleavite bushings give them a nice ride, and flex pretty good. But what makes them good is the fact that they're a C channel, so the whole arm can twist as well. Also... they are CHEAP! Most people you know have a set in their garage they would GIVE you, if you happen to bend one. In fact, the only problem with the stock control arms is that they are too short for taller lifts. But a lot of the 'fixed-length' arms out there are the same length anyway. So stick with your stock arms instead of any aftermarket 'fixed' arms.
