Rampage Products LJ Frameless Top
Hey folks, Jake from Rampage Products here, just wanted to start a thread regarding the LJ frameless tops. Right now it is the in the planning stages. The marketing department asked me to put up a post asking how many people would genuinely put the money on the table for one.
Since the LJ was only made for 3 model years, they need to be absolutely convinced that building the top will be worth the investment so I need everyone who would be willing to drop some dough on one to post up.
I also would like to get any other comments or suggestions. Constructive criticism is always good.

if its made out of sailcloth, id buy one. I like the viking design, and the fact that it uses the factory door surounds. Let me know, i am very interested!!
have you ever put up a factory LJ soft top? they arent exactly easy with only one person, they are a pain in butt actually. I usually dont put mine up unless i have someone on the other side of the jeep to flip the top up with me, the bow bends to much and you cant pull it up and over without feeling like your going to break it.

sailcloth. i'll be a tester
use factory door surrounds and rear window bar. not sure if i like the idea of a header, or the built-in clamp on header style the factory uses. probably good arguments for either way. i'd rather not have to install a 2nd piece (header).

id be interested in one as well. would need
to be easier to install than the current lj top,
as lumpster said, its a pita. would want it
to be made from the same rugged material
as the factory top as well. tinted windows
would also be a must have option.
otherwise, i really like the design you guys have,
it looks really good.

I would buy one - but it would need to stay in that $500 price range - all in. If its much mroe then that - then it wouldnt be worth it to me....

Sail cloth material, like bestop. factory surrounds and tail bar. NON Jeep FACTORY style Zippers. I would prefer a header that clamp like a sunrider, barring that. At least one that is One piece. Keep it simple.

I would run one. I have a habit of rubbing my top on trees (bending the soft top frame) and think the frameless is a great idea and design.

It would have to have removable side windows, so you can run it as a safari top

sailcloth is a MUST, factory door surrounds would be nice but also remember the factory LJ surrounds have the goofy clip on them so you can use the sunrider feature. this may get in the way of the rampage style frameless top so its not a deal breaker for me. cost is a MAJOR issue for so the 500-ish price is also about my cutoff range. tinted windows are also a major plus but not a must. header pre-attached to the top as a 1 piece unit is a MAJOR MUST. it doesnt need to be a factory clamp style but needs to be permanently attached to the top material. rear side windows and back window needs to be removable as well. another thing I REALLY liked about the original viking top is the window storage "pocket". again like the window surrounds, not a deal breaker but would be nice

I usually lurk, but must respond to this thread. YES!!!! If you make it the same price as (or less than) a typical quality replacement top. Please tint the windows and use some quality zippers. I've spent over $2000.00 in upgrading my '06 LJ in the month that I've owned it, and will spend more within the next year.
Thanks,
Richard
