Not understanding exactly what your are asking? If it rains and you have nothing covered or anyway to cover it just pull both seats forward and fold up rear seat. Thats about all you can do. Only other option is to cover it if its gonna rain.

bw1128, as far as the carpet goes I say get rid of it and rhino / line-x / herculine the tub. I don't know about the electronics etc. though.
I think I understand what he's asking (because it's something I've wondered myself). Is there a good way to waterproof just about everything inside your Jeep? Rhino lining the tub is good and all, but it won't protect the electronics. And if, in my case for instance, you only have a hard top and you get stuck out in the rain with no top on it puts you at a loss for protection. I like the idea of putting the seats forward. Are there any other ways to protect the interior?

Here is what I do/did. after the first week I had the jeep and I knew the top was going to be off alot, I took my carpet up and stored them in my shed. I can always put them back in later right
Then I went to wal-mart and got some tent sealer (3m scotchguard or equilivent) I then sprayed it on the seat itself and on my back seat. I sprayed more of it on the back than I did the actual seating surface because I will usually flip them up if its going to rain. I also pulled the drain plugs so water can run out easily. I try to keep a el cheapo trash bag so I can cover the stearing colum and gauges and possibly the radio if it is big enough or I can use it on the trail to pick up trash! I also keep a towel with me and I can use it to sit on and cover up instriment cluster too!.GL! |

No one has been successfull and water proofing the jeep. It wasn't designed for that. Water will get into the dash, steering column, radio, everything if it rains hard and long enough. The correct answer is - put the top on.
Why not get a safari top? It can be put on quickly if you get caught in the rain and have to drive (better than nothing.) Or for when you park it, a cab cover? The cover that covers the top half, not the whole jeep. |

Even with an after market stereo, the only problems I've had is the stupid clockspring clicking until it dries out and smelly carpet. Everything else should be fine as long as you pull the plugs under the carpet on the driver's and passenger's floorboards.

my brothers TJ has had 3 inches of water on the floor a couple times. sits in the rain all day and drives in the rain with no top. and so far there are no problems with it that would have to do with water damage
