Looking for a source and size for the factory constant pressure hose clamps for the upper and lower radiator hoses where they go into the radiator. My FSM parts list shows the PN as 5200 5580 for all 4 radiator hose clamps but I can't find that part number anywhere. The PO used screw type clamps and they are leaking with my new radiator. Are they 50mm?
Yes thats them, do you know what size you need for the radiator hoses? I've seen the following sizes listed in various forums, 32mm (no way), 45mm, 47mm, 50mm, 55mm. I see those are in inches, which is fine as I can covert.
Just checked on my 97. Upper at radiator 42mm, upper at thermostat housing 50mm. Lower at water pump 55mm, lower at radiator 46mm. Dealer has wrong part numbers for sure, I have been down that road before.
How many of the 4 ends are leaking? Do they leak a lot?
I understand the concept and why the factory ones are considered "better". However, I have used the worm gear ones for over 30 years on a multitude of vehicles. I can't recall a radiator or heater hose ever leaking bc of the house clamp. There is obviously less chance for mistake with the constant tension ones.
The only ones leaking are the ends with screw type clamps. Which happens to be where both hoses go into the radiator. When I change my radiator out I thought the same thing about my screw type, used them on everything I've ever owned and never had an issue, but now thats the only place it's leaking. I did not change the hoses out when I change the radiator so that may be the cause. I have since bought new hoses and before I put them in wanted to eliminate all possibilities by using the factory style clamp.

When I fitted a new water pump I had a leak at the pump, new hose, old hose, OEM spring clamp and worm clamp. No combination worked until I bought some Permatex #3.
I don't think they make Oetiker clamps that big but those are my favorite.
All worm drive are not equal, Ideal being the worst as the slots allow the gear to cut the hose. German and Japanese manufacturers use a press formed gear that keeps the clamp solid and the gear away from the hose.
yes, one time use but never had one fail. A lot of performance shops use them. I only have 3/8",, 5/16", and 1/4" as I use them mostly for jetski water and fuel lines. Super easy to remove and grip is excellent. Motion Pro makes a nice set of dual pincers.
they go from 5.3mm to 78.6mm in stainless steel. Not a huge fan of those dipped pot metal squeeze clamps, I have had a few break even using the proper pliers
