Radiator Barn radiator rocks!

Had the infamous leak with the factory plastisteel radiator, gee, what a novel idea. Let's make something that basically has a life of getting hot and cold out of 2 materials that exand/contract at different rates..... Anyway, enough ranting. Logged onto radiatorbarn.com and ordered a 2-core all metal replacement. Nice product! bolts right in, looks like it'll actually last and has a very nice warranty. "Lifetime" Shipped around 140ish.

If you are in need of a replacement I highly recommend them.

Radiatorbarn.com does rock. Put mine in nearly 2 years ago. Darn good company to work with. Easy install, works great.

I also put a 2 core radiatorbarn.com radiator in my TJ. Cheap and easy! I'm very pleased!

Hey All!!!

I'll put my praise in as well. My radiator was shot, logged onto radiatorbarn.com and ordered the 3 core replacement. Not only was the radiator inexpensive, I got it the next day with free shipping . Installation took all of 10 minutes. Gotta love that site!!!

Dumb Cheap Design

Lots of Japanese cars and trucks use this type of plastic/aluminum radiator and they last the life of the vehicle.
The real problem is DCX bolts the radiator solidly to the body and it cannot expand and contract freely plus it gets flexed as the body flexes. The solution, which would cost DCX a few bucks, is to mount the radiator in the same type of free-floating rubber/metal mounts used in the Japanese vehicles.
Thanks.

Another happy radiatorbarn.com customer here! I put one in my TJ a month or so ago. Installing the radiator was simple...wish I could say the same for putting on that lower hose clamp.

Noticed all you guys had '97/'98s...is there a radiator issue with those year models or am I going to have to think about ultimately replacing my '00's radiator?

Not sure what year it stopped, but if you have the plastic/metal radiator you will more than likely have problems. Mine had the "sweet smell" after shutting her off for about 6 months or so before making any kind of spot on the garage floor. Started dripping about a week or two ago and figured it was time to swap it out.

If you do have the same prob. as the rest of us Radiatorbarn is highly recommended.

I ordered Mine last week and pulled it out this weekend, I noticed that is has the ports for a tranny cooler but no plugs, are they all like that? what did you use for a manual tranny?

Mine came with plugs already in there (however they didn't look like plugs - you could tell if you poked a screwdriver in them that they were plugged). It also came with open fittings that you use as replacements if you have the auto. From what I understand, it doesn't matter anyway, because if you're not pumping any fluid into it, nothing is going to come out. I think it's a stand-alone tank within the radiators bottome tank. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes it is a stand alone cooler, you do not want anti freeze running into your auto, unless you want to rebuild it every 100 miles.
