Quick Skid Question Need Help QUICK

Local 4 wheel parts store is having no tax sale today and I need to decide which oil pan/ engine skid to get

Do both of these provide the same protection?
The Warn is 100 bucks cheaper but id get the Skid Row if there was a big difference
Warn:

Skid Row:

Thanks!!

LOL, a "no tax" sale day at 4WP? Heck, Calif. sales tax is 7.75% or lower depending on the county/city you live in so that's no big deal. They'll generally give 10% off evey day on bigger ticket items except on their no tax sale day, you just have to ask for it on those other days.

But to answer your question, I'd go with the Warn.

I've not seen either of these in person, but it looks like there's no difference that's worth 100 bucks. Warn makes decent armor. I'd get that one and save some money.

Get the Skid Row, it's much stronger...!

EDIT: 1/8" (Warn) vs. 3/16" (Skid Row) half again as thick...

I installed the Skid Row plate earlier this week. When looking for a engine/transmition skid I didn't consider the Warn after I got to the 1/8" thickness spec. 3/16" seems to be the accepted minimum on the boards and websites I've read. I don't know how difficult the Warn is to install, but the Skid Row plate took me about two hours by myself including dragging all the tools out, many re-checks of the directions and putting everything away. It's one of my first mods, so I took my time. Someone with more wrenching experience or competent help could certainly do it quicker.

FWIW,
Adam

I passed over the Warn also and ended up with a JeepMedic skid. I'd go for the Skid Row if I had the same options as you do.

I brought up the sales tax vs. 10% thing so they gave me 15% of everything
Decided to get Warn. The wheeling I do is nothing extreme

Thanks for the help!
