Quick question about a DIY swing out tire carrier
Im going to be building my own swing out tire carrier and i was wondering if the stock bumper is strong enough to mount it to.
As of right now Im considering attaching the carrier to the stock bumper(preferred) but if it wont hold I am looking into the DIY bumper kit from Rokmen http://www.rokmen.com/products/diy_fabrication_parts/diy_4inch_rear_bumpers/diy_4inch_front_bumper.html When i do this i also want to attack some D rings to the bumper and i feel like the stock bumper the strain of pulling on it. So i guess my question is, would i be better off just buying the bumper kit that way i know everything will be strong enough? or can i get away with just using the stock bumper and saving 150 bucks? thanks for the help

there is no way you can mount a swing out tire carrier to a stock bumper, its slightly thicker than a beer can. see the fabrication section for lots more info on DIY bumpers. see the fab thread linked in my sig for my tire carrier.
