Just not going to be up too speed. You need a gear change to match the power you had when stock.

I did it for a week & put 31s back on. I got tired of running in 2nd gear @ 3500-4000 rpms to pass at 55-60 mph.

If you don't live in Colorado you should be fine.Your profile says you have 4.88's.

It sucks on the interstate, but it's tolerable for me.

I have 32's on 3.73 (a size smaller than what you're considering). They are "fine" but I'm very much looking to regear next year.

It's driveable. It won't cause you any "problems."
I know guys who run 35s on 3.73s and think it's fine.
They are sadly misguided, but there you go, it can be done.

I'm running it right now in Miami because it's all flat here, but if you live in a place with hills or the like then i suggest getting 4.56 or 4.88 if you plan on staying on 33s. That's my plan once I have enough funding.

I didn't like running 33s with 3.73 gears even with my 5speed let alone the 42rle. Some people do run that setup, but I couldn't stand it. Constant shifting around and having to keep the rpms high up. 5th gear was useless on the freeway and I would have to downshift with any type of headwind or positive grade.

I'm running 33's on 3.73 axles by choice, and I like the combination. But I also have the 32RH auto with no overdrive, and I do a lot of highway driving.

3.73 gears are fine, been running them for years but then again I'm in my TJ and have a manual. Even running them right now, I will be going to 4.56 later tho
