Questions about my new 97 SE

Just bought it, pick it up tommorrow. Got it for a steal it seems. Mechanically great, few costmetic things. 117K, all three tops, stereo, AC, 2.5L, new transfer case, new suspension, new tires, all three tops (hard, soft, bikini), aftermarket stereo with soundbar and sub, recent radiator and clutch, new ac compressor as of this past weekend.

I have questions, this is my first jeep.

1) This is the most 'urgent' or pressing... the driver side seat cover has some cracks/tears which dig into your leg if in shorts. For the most part the aftermarket covers don't appeal (that or I have to get a full set, front and rear, to match everything up and my other seats are pristine). Is there somewhere online I can nab a grey vinyl OEM cover for the single seat? Short of that I am going to grab a front and back set of neoprene covers from JCwhitney (great price), but with the exception of the driver seat cover the they are immaculate so I would rather just get a replacement for the one.

2) What's the best place (quality and price) for a replacement set of mats as well as the full carpet liner? JCWitney so far seems best in price.

3) The stocker rims are staying for a little while until I get a feel for this bird and find out if I want to go with something bigger, a lift, etc. They have a bit of streaking rust from the edges. Suggestions? Most rims I have dealt with were polished aluminum or what not on sport sedans and cars.

4) JCWhitney, again, has the stocker bumper for the front for like 65 bucks. Is this decent? I just want to throw on a simple 2 position light bar and a pair of 100W KC daylighters, but his front has a pretty good ding one one side.

Thanks in advance for helpin out teh noob.

JC Whittney has the best factory cover for the money , looks like the stock seat and fits tight.

Another question too... what product is best for the plastic fender extensions/flares? I mean, what product makes em black again and shine? Can't be armour all or F1 or the like, that stuff goes with the sun fast. Like many I see, they have a bit of a white haze (maybe from wax, probably from sun and age).

hey, have the same model and year myself. Seems like a good deal for that money.

Krylon Fusion is amazing on the flares and it wont fade with sun or washing your Jeep. It works wonders and it costs about 6$ a can and you can almost do all the flares with 1 can.

As for other stuff. If you need everything right away then ya those seem like good prices. But if you can wait shop around junkyard, or even better on this forum as people tend to part their jeeps out and you can get good deals on part. Since anything from 97 -2006 is almost inter changeable, you could score some seats out of a 2004 perhaps and slap them in the 97 and have it look perfect for cheap money

Hey did you get the green SE that I saw in Lawrenceville at the farm stand just last week? If so, I guess the seller wasn't as firm about $5k as he indicated. Nice job! That looked like it was in pretty good shape body wise. How about posting some links to some photos on here so we know it exists

I got it from a guy who listed just once on Craigslist, Silverfalls NJ. I caught him first not 20 minutes after posting apparently. He was at 4900. I didn't feel like too much dickering honestly, it was in good shape, no leaking, he's a parts salesman and did a lot of the work himself (his baby), had the three tops. Just a few cosmetic things really, nothing too important (dirty carpet, trashed mats, cracks in seat cushion, ding in bumper). I'll be posting pics up to my account after I pick it up tonight or tommorrow. Black with black top, grey interior.
