Question about windshield wiper assembly

I removed my wiper assembly so that I could install a new wiper motor for my 2000 TJ. When I installed it back in, the wipers don't touch the windshield!! Has anybody ever had this issue?? I moved i around and tried to adjust in different ways, but nothing has worked... Thanks

There is no contact made between the wipers and the windshield. Its about half an inch of the windshield. This wasnt an issue before I uninstalled the wipers

Sounds like you need to pull the little clips out further to seat the arms better on the gear. If you pull on the arms now, they just pop off, right? There should be a little tab underneath that pulls out.

Yea I have tried that. The tabs are completely pulled out all the way, and the arm sits in as flush as it can. I was wondering if there is anything on the wiper assembly that can be adjusted.

Not that I know of. Did you remove the armature under the cowl, as well as the motor? Or just the motor?

Push the clips in. This locks them on the mechanism.
When they are pulled out it keeps the spring from folding all the way down.

Exactly. When the tab is pushed back in, the wipers will be closer to the windshield.
