Question about rims with different lug spacing

About a year ago I bought a Jeep (2004 Wrangler Columbia Edition) and I'm looking to modify quite a few things about it. The first thing I wanted to modify was the tires. It has the 31" Goodyear GSA's. A friend of mine just sold his 2007 Jeep and had some 33" Mickey Thompson rims and tires that he gave me. We tried to put them on but the lug spacing is different. I've checked a few places and it looks like I can get spacers that alter the lug spacing. I've figured out I have a 5x4.5 lug pattern and the new rims are a 5x5.5 pattern.

My question is, is there anything I should know before purchasing and using these spacers. I don't do any extreme offroading, just mild trails and mostly city driving.

Here's a link to one of the ones I was looking at
