Project One Ton LJ
I've gotten a couple of pm's about my LJ from the pic forum, so I am starting a thread to try and cover some of these issues.
My goal is one tons, atlas 4 speed, air shocks, while keeping a full body rig. I stubbled across a great deal on one ton axles, so we are swapping those in using as many of the current RE long arm parts as possible. We will be linking the front and rear when I get the money for air shocks and the atlas. THE LJ started life as a stock LJ, bought it new off the lot... ![]() I soon lifted it and ran 35's... ![]() ![]() Next, I went to long arms and 37's, I wheeled it like this for a while, rolled it, got aggravated at having to take it easy, and set off on the current plan. ![]()

So the axles are a HP60, 5.13, Detroit and a 14 Bolt, shaved, Detroit
We got the front axle mocked up and in place. Possible problem areas are the panhard clearance and the ram clearance. We will address those issues after we get the rear in place and let her sit own her own weight. ![]() ![]() ![]() I am waiting on a uniball joint for the rear. We are going to adapt the stock RE arms into a wishbone 3 link setup. |
