Registered User | I used a smaller pipe wrench on mine. Then I threw the torx bolt away so it counldn't harm others. The threads are a good old 1/2 inch 13 threads per inch. When you get them out just throw them away. Just replace with a good grade of bolt and be ddone with it. For bumper bolts never-sieze is a good idea. __________________ Jim United Steelworkers Union member 99 TJ Sahara 4.0 5-Sp FUV (DD+ farm worker) Project f-Xj F150/XJ Ford eXtreme jeep combo 08 Dodge Charger Daytona (weekend fun) 77 F150 351M4x4 not stock 4-Sp (farm Mule) |

gently tap the torx into the head of the bolt to deepen and true up the slots | |

Registered User | If your still having problems - I would suggest you get a dremel and shave off two sides of the bolt say, 3 o'clock side and 9 o'clock. Now take a pair of vice grip pliers and twist it off. Oh yeah replace the bolt with a normal hex shaped one... Vise grips have saved my behind on several occasions. |

Shouldn't have any problems. __________________ Sold: Yellow 02 Wrangler X 4.0L 5 sp. 3.5" RE lift with 33" 12.5" BF Goodrich MT, (off road tire, 34" 10.5" ltbs, Warn bumper/grille guard, HF winch, shackles, Rusty's diff; oil/tranny, and steering skids. 4 KC daylight fogs. I ended up up drilling the heads off to a point where I can slip the item off, then using WD-40 (full can) I grabbed the remaining bolt with a vise grip and removed it that way. All the above are good ideas, mine is the extreme, and it sucks!!!! __________________ "REDRUM" "1998 Sport Standard, Tan Top, 198 km." Canadian Jeep Club Member#30 |

Borrow, buy, steal even a small SHARP pipe wrench and dig those teeth into the head of that little piss ant of a fastener and lean on that sucker till it screams to be loose. I want to strangle the person who LOOKED at the guy who invented the torx and said..."Great Idea!!" __________________ 78 CJ5 04 TJ "U" package 06 XK Commaddy Professional driver on closed course 1% er |
