Power Steering Issue, I think...Please Help!

Hi,
Right before I got to work this morning, my jeep started to make a "whining" type noise and when a couple of blocks from work, my steering started to get really stiff. Lately, my jeep has been making an angry purr type noise whenever I lay my foot on the gas...comes and goes, but i just figured it is an old car noise (i have a 97' wrangler). But, now this has happened so I'm wondering if it is all connected. Anyway, I got to work (thank god!), opened the hood and noticed fluid all over the power steering container. I opened it and there is still fluid in there. It seems like it boiled over? Also, my coolant was very very low. Please forgive me with the lack of technical terms, but I'm just a girl Would love your input before I go to the mechanics! Also, should I put more power steering fluid in just to get it to a shop or should i have it towed? Thanks!!

I can't do links- but there was someone with that same issue- search "fluid bubbling" on the search button. I don't know if it was fixed or not. That person might help you.
Another person had steering trouble like yours. He changed the pump and all was good again.
