Post Your Low COG specs here!

I am interested in what you guys have for Low Center of Gravity set ups on your TJ. My only stipulation is that it should require less than 3" of lift and larger than 35" tires. I would like to know the nitty gritty about your set up. Fenders, springs (size and brand), shocks control arms, adj anything, cutting, ect..... Whatever you did to maximize ground hieght and tire clearance while maintaining a very streetable ride and capable offroad performance. If you have pictures, it would make this thread even better.

Thanks.

This thread seems like it is dead but we'll try to get it started again. Here is my low COG '97 TJ. I have a 1-1/4" body lift and stock suspension. I get clearance from a DIY highline hood/fender. I am currently running 35" BFG Mud Terrains. It took alot of surgery to keep the tires from touching but after quite some time with the sawzall we are all good. I am still on stock bumpstops also. Next, I will be adding a high clearance belly pan of some sort. So far, I am extremely happy with this set up. It runs great on the road and holds its own on the trails.

Enjoy the pics!

What I am curious about is how many so-called "low-CG" builds ever attempt to crawl trails that have serious obstacles like rocks etc. to clear. My non-low-CG TJ with its 35" tires and 4.5" RE LA suspension plus 1" BL often barely makes it over obstacles, sometimes becoming high-centered (turtled as some described it). Personally, I'm looking for more clearance under my TJ and no low-CG design where it seems tire clearance by cutting body panels is the chief concern is going to work for my particular rock-strewn environment. If my TJ was built any lower than it is, it'd never make any of my favorite trails. A low-CG design might work for some trails but certainly not all trails.

None on me. I'll get some up in a day or so when I'm back home.

Do I have to pay a membership fee to make my pics click free? They showed in my preview but not in post.

Sorry but to keep troublemakers from registering solely to post obscene photos designed to shock people in JF, we had to invoke a 50 minimum tech post requirement before you can post pics.

Unfortunately, it's hard to find many trails with serious obstacles in the middle of Illinois. Therefore, the Low COG approach is the best for me since I find myself in many off camber situations. If I found myself on trails that had many obstacles to crawl, I would add some lift.
