Possible Heater Core Antifreeze Leak Question

So a fellow Jeeper asked me about an issue on his Wife's Jeep.

It seems to leak from the AC Core Drain on the Firewall. The question that I have is could a leak in the Heater Core leak into there?

I put a couple of Pictures to show where the Antifreeze is leaking.

Here's a closeup

Thanks for any assistance.

Ben

In the a/c box

Heater core is the only place it could be coming from in the core/evap box,
Is he sure it is not running down from the hose onto the drain , and appears to be coming from the drain.
But if it is coming out of drain tube i would say heater core

I figured that is where it is leaking from. I'll have to check with him to see.

Another question for the group is, being here in Hawaii, do you think that blocking the hoses at the Firewall would do damage?

Thanks,
Ben

Connect the two hoses together to do a bypass. Don't block them

Thanks for that. I wouldn't have thought of that.

There are inline valves to use for the bypass as well to leave the option of turning it back on. IDK if that would foul up the brains of our I6s but it would allow for quick reversal.

Does anyone know where to find an inline valve that I could install to work as a bypass system?

Thanks,

Ben

Might be wise to ask someone in the know how this will change signals to your sensors. I have only seen these in older style engines.

Thanks for all of your assistance. I'll pass this along to my buddy. He'll probably get around to fixing it someday!
