please help me! rolled my tj
i rolled my jeep this weekend into a creek after hitting some ice. it was not a good weekend. anyways once we got in up out the creek i turned the key just for a slight second and it didnt even have time to turnover and i stopped thinking i better wait to the next morning to check the spark plugs. so i took out four spark plugs and the first three were dry but the fourth i pulled had oil on it. and i took off the air filter at the throttle body and there was oil ang gas in it. so what do i need to do to the engine or clean in order to beable to start it up again. i dont want anything to happen to it. and if anyone is selling a window and frame or a hood for a tj let me know thanks joshua.

Drain oil... Pull intake manifold and everything.. Throttle body will need a good cleaning (get ya some seafoam spray).. Throw new Champion plugs in it (might as well, it needs new ones every 30,000 anyway)... Air filter is prolly gunked up (snatch a new one). As for the windshield and hood, try e-bay.. there will be plenty of stuff on there to choose from..

Why on earth would you pull the intake?

Gasoline and oil finding there way in there depending on how long it was upside down.. At least from my understanding.. Had to pull the one off of an old samurai after we rolled it in high school.

Yes, by all means do that... Clean the inside of the cylinders real well before you throw new plugs in..

Thats kind of what i do to my jet skis. When they have water, oil, or extra gas built up in the cylinders, i just take the plugs out and crank it over a few times and it shoots the extra fluids. Dont know how this would work on a Jeep but i guess its worth a try

Huh? You were serious about the intake pulling bit too?
What do you think happens in a roll that would warrant so much work?
[edit]
OP: Just eyeball your wiring, coolant, and fuel lines if you really crunched the body. If all is well: pull your plugs, crank the engine for about 5 seconds to clear the chamber of oil, put the plugs back in, check all your fluids, and keep on truckin.
Barring an electrical failure or breakage of some other critical part, it's really as simple as that.
[edit x2]
And take the time to clean up any spills.

By cleaning the inside of the cylinders, I mean turn it over without plugs.. Does this not "clean them out"... Dont' get to techincal here with me guys.... And yes, the intake prolly needs some attention if he flipped "into a creek" like stated above.. I know I would check mine out if I "flipped into a creek"...
But who knows..

pull the spark plugs and crak it over for a good bit ... enough to clear out the cylinders of oil and any debris.... put the plugs back in, crank it till it starts
standard procedure for a rollover
