Plastic Wire Cover on Tailgate
I know you all know what I'm talking about, right? I need to buy one, but I don't know what it's called, or where to buy it from.
It's on the inside of the gate, and houses the contacts for the tail-light wires. Thanks! ![]()

I think you might be asking about what's called, corrugated slit-loom tubing. You shoud be able to get it at a Home Depot, or an electrical supply store or even an auto parts store.

You are correct, sir! That's exactly what I need! You think shipping would be cost prohibitive? I didn't think it would weigh too much, being plastic. My last Heep had one, but I never paid much attention to it. The Heep I just bought is missing the cover, and wow, you can certainly tell. I guess you never really know what you have until it's gone, right? ![]() |

To the OP: Go to the dealer, small plastic parts like that will likely only run you $5 or so. May take a week to come in though..

Actually, no. I never even thought about it. I guess that might not be a bad option. ![]() I was hoping for the factory look, though. |

Brake light contacts
When put the brake light on my KOZ rear tire carrier, I had to cut wire before it went to the contact pads.
When I took the contact pads and bracket off I found the Factory had somehow scraped the insulation off both + /- wires about 2" long right behind the rubber contacts inside the rear fenderwell. My Jeep was almost new and no problems happened, but if you are chasing a brake light short on a 04' check it out. There is no way to see the bare wires until you pull the rubber contacts out. |
