Placing a headliner on a hardtop

I was just wondering in anyone has used this add on headliner? And if so what did they think of it? Seems like a good enough idea.

Good Idea

But it is from californiatops/slicktops/gatortops which has the worst customer service in the world. Somebody on the forum actually had to press charges on them

I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to be the one who throws up a big LAME. What's next, heated seats? Mall Crawler accessories

I disagree. The Cali tops headliner may not be worth it, but finishing the inside of the HT w/ something similar sure is.

I will be finishing the inside of my HT before putting it on for the winter. Mine will be done on the cheap tho....Krylon Fusion Satin Black & some indoor/outdoor dark carpet on the top. Sure it's not an offroad mod, but better than staring at the bright white for the next 5~6 months.

If it works for you ! I don't stare at the inside of my jeep while I drive though. I guess I would rather put my money into a more useful mod like tires, gears, lift, winch, bumpers etc.... You get the idea

I agree with Kramonut....the one little annoying pet peave that really got to me for some reason about the Jeep was that bright white on the inside of the hardtop. This weekend actually I was blessed with a gorgeous Sunday in NJ. Took the top off, stole an extra day of top off driving, and sanded, primed, and blasted the interior with a dark gray. Couple of coats, and a few hours worth of work, for less then $20 or so, and the white was replaced with a grey that matched the interior. Only aesthetic in nature, but I love not seeing the bright white in my peripheral vision. Much calmer, and the pet peave is all gone! My favorite homemade and home done mod no doubt!

Good luck with that! Mask everything off!

If I had a hard top I'd have a liner put in it.

Check some of your local auto upholstery shops...they may do a real nice job for not much $$.

I used to own a Fiero...a long time ago...I'm smarter now....anywhoo...it needed a new headliner...granted, not nearly as much work or material than a Jeep hardtop would need...but a local shop put one in for $28...looked as good as factory!

LOL!!! Ouch on the heated seats and Mall Crawler accessories. Good thing I didn't suggest Lil' pom-pom balls going along the windshield.
I guess I'll have to reconsider. Thought that maybe the lining would help deaden the road noise. Thanks all...for the input. Now let me find a nice corner to sit in. LOL!

What do you tell somebody after they already have. Lift, winch, tires, gears? So is it ok to spend your money on things like heated seats and liners for your hard top?

I'm only asking becasue I continue to see that same statement here and there and to be honest if somebody wants to waste their money on one mod over another than so be it.

For the record I'm saving for the gears. Darn bellyup and new driveline stands in my way.

If I had the hardtop it would be sprayed black, gray or any other color than bright white.
