Pics- Kilby Steering Box Skid Installed -Pics

Very easy, took all of 15 minutes if that. Cost $40 from 4Wheelerssupply.com... Just bolts right on. Apparently there's a new version now that fits both ARB and stock bumpers instead of either or (this new version is what was sent to me). I guess it's easier for Kilby to make one skid that fits both applications instead of two. Makes sense to me:

so the other hole at the bumper could still be drilled and tapped with a grade 8 bolt?

Yup, the other hole can be drilled and the bolt is included. The instructions say to use one or the other...

Hmmm don't know but I might put it on anyway... why not?

Here ya go, straight from the instructions:

To mount the passenger side of the skid, you can: 1. Drill the bottom of the bumper for the second bolt and nut setup if the bumper has a lower lip. Use one 1/2” bolt, 1/2” Nylock and two flat washers.

Or, 2. You can drill the round cross member and use the 3/8” self tapping bolt and flat washer. Drill the hole using a 5/16” drill bit and use a ratchet and 9/16” socket to thread the bolt into the cross member.

I sure can't think of why it would hurt. If it were me I would square out those holes and use some rounded heat bolts. Might be a PITA to get off when you booger those things up
