Overheating is bad...

Word to the wise overheating is bad! Blown head gasket the result of me being an idiot and leaving the jeep running to scout out a trail while the radiator was covered in mud. There are certian parts of an engine that you are just never supposed to see, and if you ever see them you know that it is going to cost you...

Another good reason why mud simply sucks when it comes to Jeeps. I really hate that stuff.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. Hopefully you will get it resolved, it will work as good or better than before, and you won't break the bank in doing so.

keep in mind.. new engine may be worth the repair of the head and such..

I'm not sure, how bad the damnage is, there could be more damnage then just the heads and head gasket, depending on how hot it got, As said above, it may be cheaper to buy new instead of repair. I was shock to find that the 4.0 long block was so cheap. (but then again who nows what type of part they put in the). Heck on my last build up of a 383, my compleat alum heads cost as much almost as a 4.0 long block.
