Over Sized Tire Swing Carrier Question.....
I have the basic Warn Rock front and rear rock bumper. But of course my spare 33' Tire is just a problem waiting to happen on my tail gate. Any ideas to convert my already solid and tested bumper without having to pull it off, sell it and get the over sized tire swing version?

isn't your Warn rear bumper already drilled to accept the optional tire carrier? I maybe wrong buy I think they are.

Nope. They aren't. You CAN order one I believe that will have the spindle already done, but you have to basically custom order it. Jeeperman will do this as well.

.....or you can order the Bestop Tire Carrier which is OK for up to a 35" tire, and does not require swinging the tire away to get the tailgate open. At $270 it is a reasonable buy as well, and has recently been re-designed for compatibility with body lifts.
If your Warn bumper has a 2" receiver, you could still use receiver-mounted accessories.

Coincidentally, I have the same bumper setup that you do and I had the same concern. After looking at a lot of options and putting in A LOT of design time, I just finished retrofitting mine to accept a tire carrier. It looks exactly like the carrier that WARN offers, except I used a De-Sta-Co latch instead of WARN’s design. This thing is really solid and doesn’t even think about rattling.
I will tell you that it took a fair amount of design and a bunch of welding, but it was a great feeling to be able to get this project done without having to buy a whole new setup. I got really lucky with materials and I have access to welders, but 99% of the labor was my own. I’ll be happy to give you some advice along the way if you’re going to do it, but some of the best advice I can offer is to look at BESRK’s write-up in the Fabshop of this forum. This is where I started when I was doing research. It gives great details of how the thing will be put together and what I could expect. If you can manage what’s done in this write-up, and you have some time to think about the design, then you should be fine. I hope this helps. Good Luck.
