Hey people I just put the steel rear guards on. Dont know if i like them. What do you people think.

I think you need some more stainless elsewhere to balance out. If you don't like them and they were the tape on kinda, you could always switch them out for the black dimond plate version.

You need more to balance it, I think it contrasts nice on the black Jeep.

Ouch! rough crowd here. The stainless covers made their claim to fame back in the eighties as a cheap fix to cover up rotted out tubs. I think that's the first thing that comes to mind when I see them. They don't look all that "bad", just a little dated, but if you like them then it's all good.

Yeah I dont think ill be leaving them on, I got them for 20 bucks from a friend who never put them on his jeep so i said ill give them a try.

Never been a fan of flashy diamond plate. 3/16" plate looks better to me. IMHO

Could i just use black spraypaint, like rustoleom or something from bennys? Or would i have to use a special paint on them.

How thick are they? Are they held on with adesive tape or bolted to the tub? They look like thin aluminum... Take them out, prime them with a good aluminum primer and hit them with some black rustoleum paint. It'll be easy to touch up also.

I agree add more Stainless steel or just powder coat them black! But they do look good
