OLD Mail Jeep

I was just wondering…I saw an old mail Jeep for sale near me..
Are these good for setting up for off road? Are they even 4x4s?
I didn't stop to see how much they wanted or any other info on it. Just kinda want to figure out if it might be worth my time to stop.
Thanks

99.9% of them are 2wd. I have seen one that was converted to 4wd and the doors were converted to swing out. They put in a roof rack, roll bars, tub liner, and a 1997 4.0 engine. Most of them wouldn't be good for much unless you get it free and have a lot of time and skill.

Look at the front axle to see if there is a differential there.
