OEM Fender Trimming ** PICS **

I trimmed 1.5" off each OEM fender. I did the fronts a while back, but now with the new 4" lift and trimming the rear fenders as well, it's almost "simulated" extra lift. They look really nice and I finished the edges with 320grit and a heat gun. If someone local would like to drive over, I will make a picture tutorial/write up and use your vehicle for the write up at no charge.

Edit November 12,2007: I have had alot of PM's asking about how I did this in detail. Basically, all I did was create a small plastic spacer 1.5" wide. Once you have your spacer ready, drag it along the edge of the inside of the flare opening with a red grease pencil on the edge of the spacer, creating a red line 1.5" in from the edge of the fender flare. Once the grease pencil line was on the fender flare 1.5" up from the edge, I freehand cut the line with an Exacto knife. It took about (4) VERY CAREFUL light passes with the knife to get a good smooth cut. Hope this helps.

I'll give you credit. That is the nicest fender trimming I've seen thus far.

Thanks. I didn't trim any of the horizontal surface, only the lip that hangs over. Anyway, here you go.

I've been debating on trimming mine for awhile now and just wasn't sure how good it was going to look with the edges. Well yours looks excellent. Looks like I got something to cut up this week!

I did the same thing to mine, but I used a cut off wheel and a rotary tool.

That looks really nice. You did a great job. I'm very interested to see the writeup so I can get mine done.
